||I am currently finishing my next-to-last year as an undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee, where my major is in linguistics. While I do not have extensive experience with linguistics outside of my university studies, I am attempting to get involved in research at the moment, an endeavor that would be greatly aided by any additional education I could get, especially from the egg.
My main area of interest is linguistics as it relates to cognitive science. This means that I'm particularly interested in how the mind generates utterances, hence generative linguistics. Being a fan of Chomsky, I have read some work regarding generative grammar, but I believe that my work would be greatly aided by the sort of understanding that I could gain through the egg.
Furthermore, I would love the chance to meet other linguists that the summer program would afford me, since I am interested in pursuing collaborative research in fields directly related to generative linguistics.
