I am finishing my third year in Philosophy and Mathematics at the KULeuven, Belgium. I am really interested in logic and its applications in linguistics. Currently, however, I have had no formal education in the linguistic field, although I have read some introductory books on my own. I think the EGG would be an ideal opportunity for me to get a more structured introduction to generative linguistics (the linguistic branch I find the most interesting). I am especially looking forward to the syntax and semantics courses. I also intend to join the MSc in Logic at the ILLC in Amsterdam and I think the EGG summer school would be the ideal preparation for the linguistics oriented courses. During my education I have had a lot of contact with international students in philosophy and mathematics and I am really looking forward to meeting people from all over the world who share my interests in linguistics. |
