I an a 2nd year student in Foreign Languages (English-French)currently studying syntax and having previously studied phonology and morphology, each for one semester. Linguistics is my favourite subject because it challenges me to think, to make connections, to explore and discover things on my own; I particularly like it because it is strongly connected to reason and logic. The syntax of root clauses was my favourite so far, but I am currently discovering that-clauses, which I find particularly interesting. I want to come to the egg to expand my knowledge in linguistics in a different and exciting environment, to discover things that are not taught in my faculty and new challenging ways of teaching, to meet people who share my interests, and, last but not least, to make friends. |
