||I am forth year student at Russian State Pedagogical University (Herzen University), Saint-Petersburg. I first knew about generative grammar last year while studying English theoretical syntax. Frankly speaking, it was rather suprising for me to come across with an alternative way of languge analysis, which is not very popular in Russian linguistic tradition. The matter is that I deal with the semantics of the Russian language in my scientific research. Thus, I think that the EGG school will appear to be very useful for me (especially, in its semantic part), because I would like to find some new ways to analyse language; it is not good for a researcher to be stricktly reglamentated by one scientific tradition. Besides, two weeks in Brno in a good company will be the best holiday I could ever imagine.
