||I have taken some courses (syntax, structure of English, etc) within the generative framework. During those courses I enjoyed studying syntax in this framework. In my further readings, too I have found out that most of the theories, hypothesis suggested by scholars in this framework are quite valid. Personally, I am more interested in Psycholinguistics & Neurolinguistics, but I have read some very recent research on the area of language disorders, (Verbal and nominal functional categories of a Turkish speaking autistic child, Evra Günhan M.A thesis Bogazici University; for instance) which have come up with interesting data in Turkish supporting the very well known hypotheses in generative framework (Small Clause Hypothesis (Radford,1990), Full Competence Hypothesis (Guasti,2002)) We have seen that especially in syntax, it is rather convenient to discuss English data in this framework, but having read some more research in Turkish I have seen that I need to take more courses of syntax in generative linguistics, as there is a need to conduct further studies in Turkish, too. I am applying this summerschool because I have taken all the linguistics courses offered to undergraduate students at my school but I really would like to continue studying in this field, as there is always a lot to learn and I don't want to wait until I get graduated.
