We will discuss theories of weak island violations and intervention effects with a special focus on theories that aim to explain these as a semantic phenomenon, e.g Szabolcsi and Zwarts 1993, Honcoop 1998, Rullman1995, Fox and Hackl 2005, Beck 2006, Abrusan 2007, Abrusan and Spector 2008.
