Summer School in Generative Linguistics

Debrecen - Hungary

The University of Debrecen, Hungary, will host the 5th Central European Summer School in Generative Linguistics in August, 1998. The summer school has previously been sited in Olomouc in the Czech Republic and the Debrecen School will carry on in the same tradition, being:

The summer school offers an intensive introduction to generative linguistics, featuring classes on syntax, phonology, semantics ... and offering results of the latest research, exploring current issues and open problems and discussing basic philosophy and methodology.

The programme will include:

All classes will be taught in English. The school is open to students from all over the world: it is inexpensive enough for everyone to attend. There are about120 places.

The previous four Summer Schools were in Olomouc, in the Czech Republic. For the nostalgic amongst you, you can inspect the GLEE Summer school archive. The school is organised by GLEE (Generative Linguistics in Eastern Europe) and supported by GLOW (Generative Linguists of the Old World).
