Introduction to Recursion

Recursion is a hot topic in language again connecting several strands of linguistic theorizing. I introduce some of the issues starting with Chomsky's early work and then focus on more recent work by Hausser, Chomsky, and Fitch and some of the strands that developed from that paper.
