Introduction to Generalized Quantifiers

Jakub Szymanik

The course gives an introduction to the generalized quantifier theory, overviewing some crucial notions of formal semantics. We survey how mathematical methods may be rigorously applied in linguistics to study the possible meanings, the inferential power, and computational properties of quantifier expressions. The course novelty lies mostly in combining classical generalized quantifier themes with a computational perspective. The material will be presented in a way that benefits both advanced people and intro students.

More info, and updates, will be posted on a dedicated webpage for this course.
