I’m a graduate student at the English Department, University of Montenegro and I’m currently working on my graduate thesis. Out of all linguistic fields, syntax seems the most appealing to me, especially the transformational-generative approach to language. For this reason, I’m particularly interested in attending Omer Preminger’s lectures on syntax and agreement as well as David Pesetsky’s classes in syntax of music. Apart from syntax, I would really like to broaden my knowledge of the interface of pragmatics and second language acquisition, as this issue could be of great importance in an ESL/EFL classroom. Since I plan to take up postgraduate study in linguistics, I consider this summer school as an ideal opportunity to get prepared for new challenges. Hopefully, see you in July! |
