I discovered (and felt in love with) language as a complex and interesting field of study during a course of psycholinguistics in my undergraduate studies. Now, I'm a PhD student at the University of Siena. My research project concerns second language acquisition and I'm also very interested in the syntax of Finnish from a generative point of view, with particular reference to focus and topic structures. I have done some linguistic tests to Finnish native speakers with Italian as their L2 and to Finnish native speakers in Finnish. The main focus of these tests were in particular on the answering strategies and word orders used by the speakers, on the use of explicit subjects, and on the use of clitic pronouns.
For work reasons, summertime is the period of the year in which I can better concentrate on my studies and research, hence coming to EGG would be really an excellent occasion to acquire new knowledge in linguistics and be in touch with scholars and students! |
