| self-description | Hi all, I'm studying at the Warsaw University, 3rd year of BA/MA studies (no BA here, so I'm technically an undergrad and grad student at the same time). My main interest lies in phonology. I've already had a really good training in modern generative phonology (including acqusition, feature geometry, lexical phonology and OT) and I'm taking my first insights into derivational OT(s), such as DOT or Stratal. This summer I wish to do some fieldwork on the Rusyn dialect/language, because I will need this data for my MA thesis. Therefore I plan to attend all phonology classes. I'd also love to listen to the semantics of question class (as I had only very little exposure to generative semantics at all, and it seems to be very interesting and promising field of research) and intro to locality constraints -- it's always worth knowing what your syntactician colleagues talk about by the beer. ;) This would be my third EGG. Two previous times I modestly considered myself as mostly interested in intro classes, so this year the time has come to advance oneself to the mid-level. ;) |
