I am a student at the University of Bucharest and I am writing a thesis about the "N of N" constructions in Romanian, coordinated by professor Gabriela Pana Dindelegan. I intend to extend my research upon the syntax of the DP. I am working on the syntax and the semantics of the "N of N" constructions, focusing on the behavior of this structure in Romance languages and on the problem of gender agreement mismatches in Romanian. So far, I have participated (in April 2007 and in April 2008) at the Linguistics Conferences organised every year by the Department of Foreign Languages, that are to appear on the site of the University of Bucharest: "Remarks on the verbs with an incorporated instrument in Romanian and in French", "Romanian constructions N of N. Semantic and syntactic aspects". I have also papers that are to be published in the magazine "Language and Literature" (one of them concerning the behavior of the Romanian past participle).I feel that this school represents a chance to develop my linguistic skills and to learn more in generative grammar. |
